PANGYO, Korea (December 11, 2024) – NCSOFT today announced its latest investments in both domestic and overseas game studios as part of its effort to drive growth and diversify its global development pipeline.

Among the latest partnerships are Mistil Games, a Korean developer, and Virtual Alchemy, a Polish game studio. These new collaborations aim to bolster NCSOFT’s global publishing capabilities while enhancing its offerings to gamers worldwide.

Mistil Games, founded in 2022 by its co-CEOs Yongsoo Seo and Yongmin Cho, is a Korean studio with a growing reputation for its innovative approach to game development. The studio is currently working on ‘TIME TAKERS’, a PC and console third-person time-survival shooter known for its unique gameplay mechanics, and ‘GRAY’, an online action-adventure game.

Through its investment in Mistil Games, NCSOFT has secured an equity stake and global publishing rights (excluding China) for ‘TIME TAKERS’. First teased at G-Star’s G-CON in 2023, the game is in development and set for release in 2025.

Virtual Alchemy is a Polish game studio specializing in RPGs. Established in 2022, the team is recognized for its genre-blending creativity, integrating roguelike, real-time strategy, and dark fantasy elements into compelling RPG experiences. Their current project, ‘Band of Crusaders’, is a strategy RPG set in the European Middle Ages.

NCSOFT has acquired global publishing rights for Virtual Alchemy’s ‘Band of Crusaders’, further expanding its reach into Eastern Europe, an emerging hub for the global gaming industry.

NCSOFT’s co-CEO Byungmoo Park stated, “NCSOFT is making strategic investments both home and abroad to drive growth by expanding into new regions, genres, and platforms.” He added, “Our goal is to enrich our global pipeline with fresh IPs and bring high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide.”

To stay ahead in the rapidly evolving gaming industry, NCSOFT continues to invest in third-party studios that excel in specialized genres. These partnerships highlight NCSOFT’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio while strengthening global competitiveness and staying agile in response to emerging trends. Notable recent investments include Moon Rover Games, a Swedish studio renowned for its focus on shooter games, and VIC GAME STUDIOS, a Korean developer known for subculture-themed games.
