PANGYO, Korea (August 9, 2023) – NCSOFT, a global premier game developer and publisher, today announced the consolidated financial results for the second quarter of 2023.
NCSOFT posted global quarterly revenue of KRW 440.2 billion, operating profit of KRW 35.3 billion, and net income of KRW 30.5 billion. The quarterly revenue declined by 8% QoQ and 30% YoY. Operating profit and net income decreased by 57% and 73% QoQ, 71% and 74% YoY, respectively.
Regional sales for each territory showed: KRW 285.1 billion in Korea, KRW 87.4 billion in Asia, and KRW 31.4 billion in North America and Europe. Royalty sales recorded KRW 36.3 billion. The overseas and royalty sales represent 35% of the total revenue.
Mobile games reported quarterly sales of KRW 296.9 billion in total. Revenue for each game posted: Lineage M with KRW 127.8 billion, Lineage W with KRW 102.8 billion, Lineage 2M with KRW 62 billion, and Blade & Soul 2 with KRW 4.3 billion.
Quarterly sales for PC online games amounted to KRW 88.2 billion, which can be broken down into Lineage with KRW 24.3 billion, Lineage 2with KRW 23 billion, AION with KRW 15.8 billion, Blade & Soulwith KRW 5.8 billion, and Guild Wars 2 with KRW 19.2 billion.
Following the beta test of THRONE AND LIBERTY (TL) held last May, NCSOFT engaged in content and systems improvements, actively responding to a wide range of user feedback. NCSOFT is preparing to host a global technical test with TL’s global publishing partner, Amazon Games. Further details on the test will be provided by Amazon Games.
NCSOFT has four project line-ups under development of various genres set for global launch. PUZZUP: AMITOI is a casual puzzle game expected to launch in the latter half of 2023, followed by Battle Crush (a brawl battle action title), Blade & Soul S (a collectible RPG), and Project G (a real-time strategy game title).
