PANGYO, Korea (September 17, 2025) – NCSOFT today announced that its MMORPG, THRONE AND LIBERTY (TL, developed by FirstSpark Games) launched a major content update, NEW WAVE. NEW WAVE invites players to experience various content, including new weapon Magic Orb, Housing system, 24v24 PvP battlefield Giant’s Cityscape, open-field PvP mode Abyssal Stone Guild Battle, and revamped versions of Siege and Dimensional Trial. Magic Orb is a new weapon that summons up to three orbs, allowing players to shift between damage-dealing and support. Orb placement directly influences battle patterns, making positioning and tactical judgment crucial. Magic Orb users can also deploy shields to protect allies, proving effective even in large-scale encounters. Players can now create and customize their own spaces with the new Housing System. By exploring the world to gather materials and crafting furniture, players can decorate up to four homes per character and invite friends to visit. A ranking system is planned for a future update to add even more depth to housing. NEW WAVE also introduces two large-scale PvP modes. Giant’s Cityscape, a 24v24 PvP battleground focused on five capture points, rewards teams that reach the target score by defeating opponents and seizing field objectives, with the added twist of piloting combat golems. Abyssal Stone Guild Battle is a 24-hour, open-field PvP activity where guilds fight to control Abyssal Stones. Victorious guilds earn Abyssal Stone Shards, which are used to activate new guild skills. TL has also overhauled Siege and Dimensional Trial. Siege now features a revised castle interior to elevate strategy and immersion. Dimensional Trial adds a weekly ranking system and a time-attack mode. Additional content includes Tier 3 Epic Equipment, two new PvE dungeons Abyss of Corruption Lucien and Colossus’ Palace Nerzatum, expanded rune level cap, and three new Guardians. To support new and returning players and progression of all players, TL introduced Journey of the World Tree. This feature offers guidance across core gameplay decisions such as weapon selection and accelerates growth by engaging with Adventure Codex, Leveling Log, and Journey of the World Tree, enabling players to quickly reach 6,000 combat power.
